Hey guys, so a while back I applied for a medic program (unfortunately was not accepted) and upon passing the entrance exam I was granted an interview. The interview started out normal with questions like, "where did you grow up?" and "what kind of activities do you like to do in your free time?" etc. After that came the psychological questions that left me like a deer in headlights.  "If you were two different breeds of dogs, which would you be and why?" The questions only got more weird from there. My question is, do all medic programs do this? I only ask because I'm applying for two upcoming courses and I'd like to be prepared.  Also, I know this is a long shot but has anybody on here gone through the Edward's Hospital program in Naperville, IL?  If so how was it?

Never seen an interview for a medic program, so I'm guessing this is a unique school or program here.

"If you were two different breeds of dogs, which would you be and why?"

A Great Dane, Bichon Friesse.....because why the hell not????

I think those kinds of questions are becoming more prevalent in interviews. I have heard people being asked similar questions outside of the medic world. It is a test on how fast you can think and not necessaryly have a correct answer.

Dunno...would you want to hire a medic whose dog choice is a pekingese? They can be timid and nervous and nervous dogs tend to be bitters. So you want a timid, nervous medic.

Would you want a medic that's a doberman?  They tend to be one-person dogs, protective but aggressive.  Is a medic that is one person (or one task) oriented good?  And do you need a medic biting out at someone that is helping?

Or would you want a border collie?  Very smart, people and task oriented and live to work the herd?

Maybe the question is not so far fetched after all.

Or perhaps trying to see if a person is comfortable working for kibbles and bits?
