Maryland Firefighters Injured Battling Vacant House Fire

CLINTON, Md. - Prince George's County officials say five firefighters were hurt in a fire at a Clinton home.

Crews called to 8200 Anaio Court on Wednesday morning found heavy fire in both floors of the home and extending into the attic.

Fire department spokesman Mark Brady says the house is vacant but vagrants recently lived there. Firefighters searched the home before fighting the blaze from outside the building.

It took 33 firefighters about 30 minutes to knock down most of the fire.

Four firefighters received minor burns and one firefighter's leg was injured. All five were taken to area medical facilities, treated and released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
