Yesterday a Melbourne man stopped his car on the West Gate Bridge and then proceeded to throw his daughter over the hand rail.

She plunged nearly 60 metres and died from the trauma about 4 hours later.

As a father of a 3 y.o. and 5 y.o. daughters, I'm at a loss for words.

Should we be sad for this man and the events that led to this or be angry and seek retribution?

I agree throw this scum off the bridge .
if u have enought problems that u would even think about that u dont need to have ur kids they need to be taken away... he needs thrown off the bridge
agreed....with a noose around his neck.
He should be punished, yes. But he didn't think his little girl deserved to get any help before he killed her, so I think that help should be denied to him, too.
I couldn't add to this thread this morning when I saw it. Too angry. We'll hear about what led him to this terrible act when he goes to trial. I cannot accept anything driving someone that far. I am a father and a grandfather - this hurts.

Justice? He'll be sent down. If the medicos decide he's not fit to stand trial due to insanity, then he'll still go down - in a psychiatric prison. If he goes to a normal prison then he's going to meet a lot of people who don't like the idea of a father killing his child. I don't think he's going to enjoy life for quite a long time to come. But then, his daughter only had four years of life to even try to enjoy.
