(AP) ERIE, Pa.

An Erie man is in a Pittsburgh hospital after an explosion destroyed much of his house and caused it to catch fire.

Emergency crews are still investigating the blast in Millcreek Township just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim, but neighbors say he was in his 20s and lived in the house owned by his mother.

West Ridge Fire Chief Dan Ouellet (OO'-let) says the house was a total loss, but the cause of the explosion isn't clear. The chief says the victim was burned on his face and arm.
