U.S. Fire Administration

The U.S. Fire Administration announces the line of duty death of Firefighter Paul J. Roberts, 54, of the Beverly (MA) Fire Department on May 22, 2009. Firefighter Roberts' Engine Company was dispatched for a coverage assignment after another Beverly Engine was sent to a mutual aid fire out of town. Roberts' Company Officer found him in cardiac arrest at the station after he did not respond to the alert tone. Fellow firefighters and paramedics worked to revive Firefighter Roberts but he succumbed to his injury.

Wake Arrangements:
May 28, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

There will be a walk-by ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on May 28, 2009. Formation will be at 6:00 p.m. at a location to be determined. Dress code will be Class A and retirees are welcome.

Fire Fighters are asked to meet at the staging area (TBA) at 09:30 a.m. on May 29, 2009. Firefighters will be shuttled to the Church and back again to the staging area. Details on the formation for firefighters will be coming soon and posted on the Beverly Fire Department website. Dress Code will be Class A and retirees are welcome. All color and honor guards are welcome. The Greater Boston Firefighters Pipes and Drums have been requested for the funeral.

Collation:
Following the funeral there will be a collation at the Vittori Rocci Post 143, Brimbal Ave, Beverly. There will be no interment at this time.

Our sincere condolences to the family and fellow firefighters of the Beverly Fire Co. from the Officers and members of Sugarloaf Fire and EMS in Sybertsville, Pa.
Thoughts and prayers going out to the Family and fellow Firefighters of FF Paul Roberts. We here at Montgomery Fire Protection District im Montogmery City, MO share in your time of loss and sorrow. May Paul rest in peace wih all of our other Brothers and Sisters who have gone before him.
