LOS ANGELES - Firefighters have doused a spectacular fire at a liquor storage building in East Los Angeles.

A Fire Department statement says about 100 city and county firefighters took an hour to douse the blaze Monday night at East LA Wholesale Beverages. Flames soared into the night sky but no injuries were reported.

The blaze began in an unoccupied 100-by-100-foot building that was full of boxes of merchandise. An attached building also was damaged.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
