Legs Blown Off in Backyard Explosion

UPDATE 9.36am: A PAKENHAM man has had both of his legs blown off in a backyard explosion at Cannon's Creek, southeast of Melbourne, last night.

Paramedics have described the 24-year-old's injuries as war-like following the incident, which happened about 11pm.

Police are investigating whether the explosion was caused by the men mixing chemicals as a prank during a family gathering.

The article blew me away... I was stumped as to why the victim would do such a stupid thing.

given the explosive nature of the situation I feel we should amputate the jokes from this thread and be more supportive of prosthesus research...
