Good Day all,

I hope the holiday season finds all of you well!

Through this discussion I hope to find/discover some names or contacts to those who do an outstanding presentation on fire service leadership... responsibility... tradition... safety... etc etc and so on. It is our primary focus to really improve our department’s officer core and those who intend to make the move from firefighter to fire officer.

So what or who is out there that you feel is very beneficial…??

Thanks for your help!

Shawn

If you want to contact them provided me an email address for you and i will send them your post.

There's hundreds more I could give you that do a GREAT JOB of educating and inspiring future leaders. Question is are you going to pay them or just looking for advice?
A great way to help answer your question is to attend some national level conferences and see 5,6,10 of them speak. Then you can choose some yourself. While this may cost some up front, the pay off will be big in the long run. Many would be willing to talk to after their lectures. If you can afford to take time off; The National Fire Academy has 2 week and 6 day courses you or your future officers can apply for. The federal government pays for your travel and lodging. If your Fire Department belongs to the International Association of Fire Chiefs they can direct you to a multitude of leaders that meet your profile. A good site that is free is: Grow Your Own Captains. This is James Rowan's site. While he looks to contact himself out, he provides a lot of free resources. Don't just look into the fire service for these types of instructors, look to private business. The fire service just adapted a lot of their practices and teachings to our vocation.
Hope this gives you a start.
