This video depicts what I think should be the standard in recruit
training and expectations when doing a ladder drill. Do you agree?
Standard? Hardly. While I understand the gist of the topic here and the goal to spur conversation, I wouldn't recommend this as a standard, nor even to contemplate doing, be it recruit academy or fireground. We clearly see in the video a nice running track, numbered building positions, etc. Works fine in a well secure, "training" facility....practical applications, not so much.
What stands out is there is no checking for overhead obstructions, no turnout gear, no fire hazards, no victims, no weather conditions, etc, etc. Yes, laddering is important to learn on and train on, but such a video like this is for show, not practicality.
After all, such a video is not much different than this type of laddering.
