Kansas City Fire Engine Collides Head-On With Car During Response

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Kansas City fire engine collided head-on with a passenger car, injuring the driver and a child as well as one firefighter.


KMBC reports that the engine was responding to an EMS call when the collision happened.


The engine struck a pole after colliding with the car, a few block away from the firehouse.

Three ambulances were dispatched to the scene and police shut the roadway down during the incident and investigation.

There is no word on the condition of the injured, however a KMBC reporter on the scene received word that the injured firefighter may lose his leg.
