Hello to all, We are looking at putting on a fun challenge for the fire department in the area over the 4 of July. Does any one have any good ideas for a fun course that would not be to tuff.

We always do an air pack relay. Four team members, two at each end of the course. The first man dons PPE and then an airpack, runs the length of the course then tags the second man and doffs the pack, while number one is doffing his pack number two dons PPE then the pack then runs the course and so on and so on.
We are looking at bring other departments to our town and having a fun changle for the firefighters an the community to watch. when want something fun like the firefighter changle but not as hard. So if you have any good ideas shoot them my way. Thank you and be safe.
Brad, We used to do this back in our "Field day" days. Each dept has a driver and 3 man crew (not required to be gender specific). Start in thier engine far enough away to, say, get truck into third gear on the required run. Drive to site as fast as is safely possible and put front bumper as close a possible to designated cones. Driver sets up pump ops while the 3 don packs (only after truck stops) then stretch 200' of attack line from its usual bed. Nozzle men go to established mark (maybe 190' from where the truck stop mark is) and shoot a target off a traffic cone 40 feet away with their charged attack line. Start the watch when the truck is signaled to go and stop it when the target hits the ground. Best time wins. Judges can deduct seconds for wrecklessness, hitting the cones, falling, etc. If you can plug in a ladder challenge someplace in the course, thats even better. Must be explained to participants along with the invitaion so they all have equal notice and opportunity to assign teams and practice if they want. We had a ball.
