I suppose everyone has their own take on that situation. Too muddled for me to be subjective, peace in the middle east is and most likely always will be an oxymoron.
The history there goes back to after the war and the manner in which israel was established. Not unlike native americans who were forced off their land onto reservations, palestinians suffered a similar fate. Claiming something that hasn't belonged to you in a thousand years makes the argument difficult to justify.
Unless accommodations can be made it is never going to end. Same old story; generations (or centuries) of animosity and vendettas over religious and political ideologies.
I have a passing understanding of the historical issues at work there and I'm neither making any judgment nor looking to be lectured, simply responding to a discussion. Nor am I pro- or anti-israel or palistine but rather pro-peace. Sad that given the rich history of all people there that the old hatreds can not be put aside. Righteous indignation on both sides continues to fan the flames.
