For most of Chinese firemen there is a necessity called "6 must be known".That is to gather or review 6 pieces of infomations in the popedoms assigned to the local FD.The 6 must be known are:
1:Locations of water supply(Both natural and man made)
    2:Locations of major constructions
3:The types of the most frequent disaster and its solutions
4:The main parts of the major constructions for fire prevention
5:The inner firefighting devices of the major constructions
6:The fire battling plans of major constructions.
The 6 aspects are the basic lessions that both rookies and vets have to learn each year.My question is,is there the same thing that US firemen have to do each year?

I believe that while we do not necessarily have the "6 must be known" everything you posted is material covered in most firefighter training and refreshed on a regular basis.

Thanks for the reply.Does a probationary fireman(a freshmeat)in a US firedept have to walk around his popedom and remember everything he has seen in case of fire or rescue run?

We do area familiarization and when we do pre-plans and inspections we get inside buildings. That leads to more familiarization with specific hazards within a building and any built in fire protection systems.

I was going to say the exact same thing as Don said ours is more of pre-plans
