Investigators Search For Suspect In South Carolina Fire Bombing

BLUFFTON, S.C. - Authorities say burglars struck two stores in Bluffton, throwing fire bombs that caused minor damage.

The Island Packet of Hilton Head reports the incidents happened early Thursday about 15 minutes apart. Both stores were closed and there were no injures.

The first incident occurred about 2 a.m. at a pawn ship. Beaufort County Sheriff's Capt. Bob Bromage says an object was thrown through a window causing a fire. Metal bars on the window prevented a burglary.

Fifteen minutes later firefighters responded to a furniture store where the door was on fire.

A surveillance camera recorded a man with a bandanna covering his face breaking in and stealing small electronics. He threw a Molotov cocktail through a window as he left.

No arrests have been made.
