I am a FireFighter and also work as a vol fire investigator for our county. In june we were out in the middle of the night on a inv. The house was a total loss partial colapse it was deemed by a senior member to be unsafe to enter. One of the experinced investigators was standing on a 4X6 concrete pad on the A side of the structure. Then all of a sudden the pad gave away under his feet sending him down aprox 5 feet. That doesent sound soo bad but the chunks of conerete with REBAR sticking out were. He was lucky that the department was still on the scene.to help with the exctraction effort.
He recived a bunch of abrasions and 6 staples in his head. it could have been alot worse.
The moral of the story is the need for situational awareness is still high eaven after the fire is out.
sorry my typeing sucks but you get the point!!
BE SAFE and make sure EVREYONE GOES HOME!!
