LOS ANGELES - Fire officials say one person has been injured in a blaze at a Los Angeles high-rise that sent a large plume a black smoke into the sky.

Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott says the fire was reported Sunday afternoon in a unit on the 20th floor of a condominium building in Century City.

Up to 75 firefighters responded and knocked down the blaze in about 20 minutes.

Scott says the unit was engulfed in flames.

He didn't know the nature of the victim's injuries or whether that person was in the unit that burned.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
