Indianapolis fire Capt. Rite Burris says the two-alarm blaze began late Monday on Pennsylvania Street a few blocks south of Interstate 65.
Part of one wall of the building collapsed. Burris says code enforcement officers were called to the scene and will work with fire inspectors to dismantle parts of the building that are unsafe.
Damages were set at $750,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Burris says some homeless people might have been using the people for shelter.
No injuries were reported.
