BOISE, Idaho - Authorities say a three-alarm fire has destroyed an artist's shop north of Middleton.

The Idaho Statesman reports firefighters from around the Treasure Valley took more than an hour to beat back the blaze reported Thursday afternoon.

One firefighter from Caldwell was transported to a hospital with a shoulder injury from a fall.

Capt. Marty Ogan of the Middleton Fire Department says gas cylinders the artist used in welding exploded inside the 55-by-100-foot metal shop.

The artist was outside welding at the time and called authorities.

Ogan says the shop is a total loss.
