I HATE the hero label.

I've never hidden that in these forums. It's wrong. It's misleading.

And then my worst nightmare came true this week.....

My own agency started a new campaign for the public to show their support and some misinformed public servant came up with this gem:

The reaction from the members has been strong.

The reactions from the staff members has been strong.

We'll see how long this campaign goes for before they pull it. My gut feel is that it's here to stay- unfortunately. :-(

Plus Lutan the guy on the campaign poster doesn't even look like you! Ha,ha! Oh well, what can you do...my administration things we are "overstaffed and overpaid." What a joke that is!
Remember folks "hero" is a very short lived status. After 9-11 my department and others in the Central Virginia area raised 100'sof thousands of dollars over a weekend to send to the NY brothers. People were giving us money as fast as we could empty the boots. Try it now!!! Like others here have said hero is nothing more than doing our jobs, paid or volunteer. In the imortal words of "oddball" on Kelly's Heroes " a hero is some kiind of weird sandwich"
spiderman was my hero when i was real young, then it was superman, till they killed him off! so now adays its still chuck norris
Karr,

Solid choice!

thats funny!
try this, google "where is chuck norris" and see what pops up
Ha,ha! Who knew Google has a sense of humor...

the color orange has been used to bring awareness to multiple sclerosis... and uses the hero theme... FYI...

Great picture of DUST's car !!!
