Howdy Glenn, This would be the place to learn and meet other firefighters... Some words of advice about your involvement here would be to first off take the time to research topics before posting new ones, ensuring that you aren't reinventing the wheel. It always amazes me to see folks repeatedly post thought provoking forums posts like what color is your fire truck or helmet. With your experience in the Navy, I'm thinking that you will have a lot to offer now, sharing how military firefighters in the Navy handle or train for incidents. The second thing would be to have sensitivity about the volunteer verses career nonsense that some folks seem to thrive on. My take on this is that we all take the same risks when encountering and dealing with the myriad of situations we can and do encounter. WE are all equals in my mind. Don't forget that and don't let some of the negative folks on FFN influence you in any way. Opinions are just that. Some folks seem to be more animated and verbal about their opinions. You can use this site to learn, gain insight and have fun. That's my take on this whole FFN conundrum...

Fraternally and welcome brother,

Mike Schlags, Fire Captain / Paramedic (Retired and alive) aka Captain Busy or CBz
