I came from a large department in New York
where we had 300 plus members. We also had
seven companies within the department. Each
company had a Captain & 2 lieutenants. The
department had as follows:
4- Chiefs
7- Captains
14-Lieutenants
In the small department i'm serving with here
in South Carolina, has approximatly 40 members.
We have as follows:
3- Chiefs
3- Captains
4- Lieutenants
So how many officers dose your department have ????
I do know there is a Fire Coordinator, 2 Operations Chiefs, a Battalion Chief, a Fire Marshall, a Training Chief, a Fire Inspector, a Fire Prevention Officer, a Logistics Officer, a Breathing Air Technician and 21 shift Captains for a total of 31 career officer positions. I think the last figure I heard was between 250 to 300 active members.
At my Station there's 3 shift Captains, a Volunteer Captain, and a Volunteer Lieutenant for a total of 5 officers for 20 people.
Hey Captain Bull, Thank you for responding to the discussion.
Sounds like a well knit family of firefighter you hav there.
Thanks again, and be safe out there Brother.
Hey Todd, Thank you for responding to the discussion.
Almost sounds like the size of the department I started out with.
Nothing like being part of a big family.
Thanks again, be safe out there Brother.
Hey Tyson, thanks for responding to the discussion.
Sound like the perfict balance between firefighters, and
Officers. Thanks again, and stay safe Brother.
Thanks Dave, How can you hold a discussion, if you don't reply. Jake just has a bug up his ass. I also see that he just enjoys breaking peoples balls, as I have noticed on other discussions.
Not a big deal, once an ass, always an ass.
