Good 360. 

Did he have information from the bystanders if anyone was still reported inside or not?

Two story wood frame structure. Fire appears to be isolated to a single bedroom, second floor, Alpha side. No wind, fire is not being pushed by any winds. 

Using the resources normally available to me with my standard staffing of 3 on each E and T and 2 on the R.

First Engine makes a fast attack by stretching a 1 3/4 line in the fornt door and up the stairs if growth was still minimal. In this video by the time the attack crew entered the front door smoke can be seen coming from two other windows and was now aggressively growing into the eaves. Therefore first water would be from the outside for a transitional attack. 15 seconds into the fire room only to prevent flashover and fire growth. Fire room was not survivaeble and would not have been "pushed" into other rooms. 

Second Engine lay a supply line. 

Third Engine stand by for Rapid Intervention. Do their own 360, stage equipment and throw ground ladder for secondary means of egress to both A and D sides. 

First truck to second floor for a primary and pull ceilings checking for extension into attic.

Once water supply is established then Second Engine pulls a second line for back up. Driver takes a fan to front door and sets up when given the OK by the interior crew. We want smoke, heat and fire off the second floor and out the windiws on side A but NOT into the attic space. If fan could have been placed before eaves were involved I would have called for it to be activated. Push smoke and heat out that window before ceiling or eaves are compromised and prevent fire spreading into other rooms. 

First rescue on scene would assist Truck crew pulling ceilings. 

Fire has grown so an extra engine would have been called. They will rotate out with the first crews as needed.

Working fire would have been called bringing extra staff, law enforcement, EMS and Utilites. 

I would not have initially called for vertical ventilation simply because it could not have been carried out timely enough to be coordinated with the attack crews. 

Setting Truck up on Side A just in case it is needed for defensive attack or secondary escape is a good move.
