LANSING TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Lansing-area authorities say two homeless men were killed when their cast-iron stove exploded.

The blast happened Saturday night in Ingham County's Lansing Township.

A man who says he was friends with the victims says six to seven people live year-round in the homeless encampment.

Roberto Martinez tells WILX-TV the men had a burner they used for warmth and apparently overloaded it.

The Lansing Township Fire Department is investigating the cause of the explosion.
