I have been a volunteer for three years.  I have been wanting to buy a helmet cam so I can critique myself.  It just seems that everytime anyone brings up cameras they are totaly against them.  Just wondering if anyone has any insite on how I can bring up the idea to my Chiefs.

Thanks for the help.

If it is you who wants to purchase one, for your personal critique, then I would say that would be how to bring it up to the chief. The issue with such video is it tends to get put on the internet, used for the wrong reasons, and so forth. Some depts have policies against the use, if there is, don't push the issue. I would definately keep the chief informed and perhaps if there may be some hesitation, be willing to sign some paperwork that the footage is used for personal/ dept critique only. It may be YOUR camera, but it is being used in the duties of the dept you are affiliated, so they should have some say.
