(AP) NEW HAVEN, Conn.

A spokesman for the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection says a hydrogen peroxide spill has been cleaned up after causing problems at a dialysis center.

DEP spokesman Dennis Schain says about a gallon of the chemical spilled in the unit on Church Street in New Haven Tuesday morning.

Schain says the spill occurred in a utility room and there were some complaints of itchy throats and burning eyes.

He says the spill affected about a half dozen people.

DEP and city emergency crews arrived and cleaned up the spill and nobody was injured.
