ATLANTA - A building fire disrupted traffic on Atlanta's busy Piedmont Road, and smoke was visible to commuters on Interstate Highway 85.

Firefighters responded Thursday morning to the blaze in a building that houses an antique store and a Halloween costume store. Officials say traffic on Piedmont Road, which is heavily used by commuters, is being diverted.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says flames could be seen shooting from the roof of the building at 6:30 a.m. Fire officials sounded three alarms, bringing in extra firefighters to battle the blaze.
