Georgia Firefighters Injured When Engine Overturns During Response

NEWNAN, Ga. - Three Coweta County firefighters sustained non-life threatening injuries when their fire truck overturned while responding to an emergency.

Fire officials told WSB-TV the crash happened noon Sunday at the intersection of two busy roads in the metro Atlanta county.

Authorities say they were on their way to a brush fire call when the crash happened. They say two of the firefighters were taken to Piedmont Newnan Hospital and the third was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center.

The Coweta County Fire Department and the Georgia State Patrol are investigation the crash, which involved no other vehicles.
