Are their any other county VFD that have passed bills where that fire dues are now placed on property taxes? Hopkins County has added this in 2008. This should help allow us to obtain the equipment we need to safely fight fires, and provide the training to keep our firefighters safe. The property tax has the fire dues included unless the individual requests to Opt Out which has to be done on a yearly basis. This has and will greatly increase our revenue and most of the residents in this community has not Opted Out.

We run off fire fees attatched to property taxes, we just recently got the county to stop dropping them off of delinquent tax bills. In the past if you failed to pay your taxes on time, the fees were removed from the past due amount and the property owner had to make sure to pay the fees seperatley. Now it all stays on the bill.
