PHOENIX, Ore. - A four-alarm fire destroyed a million-dollar home outside the southern Oregon city of Phoenix.

The Mail Tribune newspaper reports the blaze kept firefighters from across Jackson County busy for hours as smoke billowed over the Rogue Valley and traffic on Interstate 5 slowed to gawk at the flames.

There were no injuries and the cause has yet to be determined. The couple who lived in the home for more than 40 years moved to an apartment about a month ago.
