NEW YORK - Fire officials say four people, including one firefighter, were injured in a house fire in Brooklyn.


They say the fire erupted on the top floor of the three-story brownstone at 4:27 a.m. Monday.

Nine people were in the Putnam Avenue house at the time. Three were taken to a hospital suffering from burns and smoke inhalation. The other six had minor injuries.

Four firefighters also were injured, one seriously.

Fire officials say none of the injuries are life-threatening.

The blaze was brought under control at 5:33 a.m. The cause was not immediately known.
