Investigators are looking for the cause of a five-alarm fire that gutted an historic building in downtown Renton.
There were no serious injuries reported in the Thursday night fire at the century-old Western Hotel Annex Building. It housed apartments and several businesses, including a comic book shop and vacuum shop.
More than 100 firefighters from Renton and surrounding districts battled the blaze.
Renton Fire Chief Daniel Davis says the fire began in the basement, and a man who discovered it tried to put it out with an extinguisher before calling for help. He then went through the building warning everyone to get out.
The Red Cross is helping apartment residents who have been burned out of their homes.
