DETROIT — Authorities say five firefighters have been injured while battling a blaze at a vacant commercial building on the city's southwest side.

Lieutenant from Ladder 22 remains hospitalized.
Sergeant from Engine 27 has since been treated and released.
Firefighter from Engine 33 has since been treated and released.
Firefighter from Engine 48 has since been treated and released.
Firefighter driver from Squad 2 has since been treated and released.

Battalion Chief Steve Flanagan tells WXYZ-TV that three of the five were released from a Detroit hospital within hours of when they were hurt in the early Monday fire. One of the injured firefighters had an arm in a sling as the battalion chief picked them up from the hospital.
Flanagan says the other two were being held for observation.
WDIV-TV reports the injuries weren't considered life-threatening. WWJ-AM reports the fire burned for several hours. The cause was under investigation.
