(translated from Hebrew)

When I'm called to duty, where the flame bursts
Give me the courage to save lives no matter the age
Help me hug a little boy
Or save an old person from a terrifying fate
Allow me to be alert to hear cries of the the weak
Give me strength to beat the fire and rescue the trapped
That strong is my will to fill my duty, to do my best
Save a neighbor or protect the property of another
And if according to your will I'll have to sacrifice my life
Please Bless my wife and children

Interesting. I have seen this in English, which I believe was the language it was written in originally, and it sounded different. I guess going from English to Hebrew and back to English has made slight changes to the wording and meter of it.
Just read a version of that prayer at our last meeting. This one seems to shorten the words, which is good, with the same meaning except the one line that reads " for isn't firefighting the most noble calling". The last line assumes that FFs are male only. I would change "wife" to "spouse" Thanks David and TCSS

Here is the version I use.

Firefighter’s Prayer, Alternate Version
-unknown author

When duty calls me, oh Lord, my partner,
When flames do their destructive work,
Give me strength to save lives
And, above all, keep my courage bright.
With you will I reach, before it's too late,
The injured child, the helpless old person,
With your generosity, may I be able
To spare them the horror of such an end.

Since I must always be alert,
I pray thee, oh Lord, guide my every move,
And in the infernal tumult of the fire
Let me hear the feeblest cry.

I will glory in the fulfillment of my destiny,
For is not life-saving the most noble calling?
When the storm is over and all have returned home,
Then will I be proud to have helped my neighbor.

If it should happen, by thy will,
That I must give my life,
I pray thee, protect my family
And bless this firefighter who is yours.
