Hi all,

I'm a paid on call firefighter for Anoka-Champlin Fire in Minnesota and I am planning on running the Twin Cities Marathon in 2010. As motivation to nudge me to train harder, I've been thinking about raising money for a firefighter related charity. Only problem is I can't seem to gather any information on: A. Many firefighter charities and B. How to start raising funds. I was thinking about possibly just talking to family and friends etc. and giving whatever I get to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation but I want to try to be as organized and thorough as I can. Any information anyone has on fundraising ideas or simply how to get my feet wet please let me know.
