Good Morning All,

Well, our county judge executive has finally issued a burn ban here in our county after 50+ days of very little rainfall.  I must say it is a very welcome sight.  The grass, crops, and woods have been getting mighty tinder and several of the departments south of mine have been running on a bunch of field fires over the past several weeks.  I've found myself this year and especially over the past several weeks really paying close attention to this wonderful report provided by the National Weather Service.  We've had 2 red flag days here locally over the past  6 weeks and I'm anticipating several more in the weeks to come as there is very little precipitation on the radar.  Was just wondering how many others are utilizing this report and your thoughts on it.

Stay safe and have a great day!

It's a really great resource, lists some nice numbers to have (Temp, RH, D.I, Mixing Height, etc). I'm involved in a good bit of prescribed burning and we use the fire weather reports to determine good burn days. Only thing I wish they would add is fuel moisture, I calculate it w/ my Fireline Handbook Appendix B, but it would be nice if they could add that to the weather report.
