FRANKFORT, Ind. - A fire in the central Indiana city of Frankfort has struck an abandoned warehouse.

Frankfort police say the fire broke out about 10:30 p.m. Thursday at the former Indiana Brass building that covered an entire city block. The warehouse has been abandoned for nearly 25 years.

It was not immediately clear how the building caught fire.

Firefighters knocked down the massive blaze early Friday morning, but remained on the scene near dawn to extinguish flare ups and hot spots.

Frankfort is 40 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
