NASHUA, N.H. - Fire officials in Nashua say a fire pit at a house ignited a fire that caused an estimated $240,000.

The blaze was reported late Thursday after fire from the pit apparently spread to a back porch and the rear of the house. Witnesses said the flames could be seen 1 1/2 miles away.

WMUR-TV reports that a firefighter who helped battled it was taken to the hospital suffering from dehydration.
