(AP) ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.

Officials in suburban Chicago say two people are dead and a third seriously injured after an early morning fire blazed through an Arlington Heights home.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to find heavy smoke pouring out of the single-family home.

Police officials say the fire remains under investigation.

Authorities with the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office say a 41-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy were killed. Both were pronounced dead early Tuesday at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Their names aren't being released.
