WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Fire ripped through two buildings early Friday in Luzerne County.

The blaze broke out around 3 a.m. in the 200 block of South Welles Street in Wilkes-Barre.

According to officials, one building is a single-family home that was being renovated. It was vacant at the time of the fire.

The other building in a double-block apartment building. Everyone in that place got out safely.

A fire marshal will be on scene Friday to try to determine a cause.
