Almost makes me wish I had an iPhone or an iPod touch. I don't know how much good it would do me on the fireground though, I probably wouldn't bring it. I don't know if insurance covers "I brought it to a structure fire, I don't know how it broke". Of course, that app. might prompt me to get one and leave it in the engine.
I've got an actual "pump operator's" calculator. This looks a little easier to use though. I don't know how much use it would see on the fireground though...might be a good training tool.
I need to update my iPod Touch though...
Bad idea. Thats just what we need is firefighters playing with ipods on the fire ground. I would rather see a touch screen moniter built in on the pump panel for this kind of thing. That way its always there when you need it, its always charged, and there are no other temptations for playing games or music on scene.
hmmmm... that's a good idea! And I get your point, but I don't think folks will actually have time, or interest, in doing anything else on a fire except, fighting fire. :) I'll forward this feedback to some of the vendors to see if they can do anything at the pump panel.
