Have you actually read the bill? No where does it say that it is going to unionize police and fire. What it does say is that it will require states to recognize and negotiate with unions. I strongly suggest you read the entire bill.

Well stated!

However, how dare you dispel such a scare tactic as New Bill wants to Unionize all Firefighters and police by saying This bill does not require fire and police organizations to unionize, because that would be illegal. I mean next thing you'll see is those in opposition saying how this will enable police and fire depts to strike and hold municipalities hostage....Oh wait, nevermind, those lies are also being spread too.

Doesn't matter how I feel, Georgia is a Right To Work state.

But my opinion is that a union is not necessary.

I do understand what this bill is about and do support it. I was being sarcastic to the baseless claims made by the opposition about this, such as it would require people to join unions. I also seen an opposing flyer sent around also spewing falsehoods as I mentioned above. Problem is most people will not look into things for themselves and believe whatever they want.

No one is saying you have to be in aunion Reg. The difference here is that this would protect those FF's to be able to negotiate a contract fairly without repurcussions and without being subjected to the "whims" of those in charge.
