KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A massive weekend fire caused up to $3 million in damage to a Kansas City, Kan., manufacturing plant.

The Kansas City Star reported that the Saturday afternoon fire caused severe structural damage at Darling International, an animal feed processing manufacturer. Firefighters said the blaze also destroyed equipment and all product inventory.

The company estimated the damage totaled $2.5 to $3 million.
