KINSTON, N.C. - Fire crews battled a fire in Kinston that began around 12:15 a.m. Thursday morning.

Officials tell Nine on Your Side the fire took 45 minutes to get under control and destroyed an apartment unit. One person was home at the time and did get out. They are now staying at a hotel.

One person was injured and treated for minor injuries.
