WARRENTON, N.C. - Firefighters are trying to control a massive blaze at a farm supply store in Warrenton.


Mayor Walter Gardner, who also serves as the town's fire chief, says he was notified about the fire Wednesday night shortly before 6 p.m. He says the Southern States Farm & Garden store is entirely engulfed in flames. He says the fire appeared to have started after hours and he doesn't know of any injuries.

Gardner says the store sells supplies such as hardware and fertilizer and also provides fuel storage.

Warrenton is 55 miles northeast of Raleigh and just south of the Virginia state line.
