GLENVIEW, Ill. - Authorities say a fire has destroyed an old suburban Chicago building in a park district.
Glenview Fire Department officials say five firefighters were treated for minor injuries on Sunday.
Park officials say the fire started around midnight. The park district building houses maintenance equipment. It's around 100 years old.
Glenview Park District spokeswoman Liz Gogola says no one was in the building at the time of the fire.
Park officials say it's too early to assess damage.
Witnesses told the Chicago Tribune that the fire's flames appeared to reach 20 feet and were spotted from blocks away.
Some neighbors reported hearing popping explosions as equipment reportedly blew up.
