hello all, we are potentially looking at Fire dept software and was curious what anyone out there is using, I know there is fire house and some others but do they do what you want for an economical price? possible pre-plans, inventory, annual scheduling for shifts including K-days, vacations.

I am curious to hear opinions good and bad thanks

We use imagetrend for reports, etc and telestaff for shift scheduling etc. Unfortunately for us, we have a third party involved for the EMS billing component which IMO, F's the whole thing up. It is possible for the two softwares to "talk" to each other and be compatible, but with our third party stuff, it doesn't.

All our NFIRS and EMS reports are done with Imagetrend and this was a change from our past system (and right now I can't recall the name of it, it wasn't firehouse). I haven't seen too many issues with Imagetrend, except that for each call you have to enter in personnel on the call etc. However this wouldn't be an issue if we didn't have the third party involved, but that was an aspect to get the lesser price we did receive.

For scheduling etc we use telestaff, and quite frankly I love it. The flexibility involved is worth the cost and as mentioned, can be compatible with Imagetrend. With Telestaff, one can easily log in from any computer to check the roster for the next day, take a sick day, take vacation, put in a trade, etc. One can see if there is potential for overtime on the next shift etc. One who may move from station to station can log in in the morning before going to work to see where they are needed. It is a great program for scheduling, shifts, Kelly/FLSA days etc. Can't say I've seen a problem with it.

We use ACS Firehouse Software, and it suits us fine. It is very powerful, and tracks every statistic anybody would need.  It is available in modular form so you can buy only what you need. There is a service agreement which gives you all updates and access to online and by telephone service techs.

Thank you very much

Thank you

We use Emergency Reporting.  Excellent product, excellent people!  We don't do any scheduling as we're a paid call (volunteer) dept.  It has virtually every type of report one could want.  Makes NFIRS reporting very easy.  We also don't run EMS but there is an EMS module available. There is an app available for inspections/preplanning to run on tablets. Just purchased last week and have not yet had a chance to use it.  I have been very satisfied with the product.
