ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - A spokesman for the University of New Mexico's Health Sciences Center says a fire that broke out Wednesday in a research building seemed to be confined to a third-floor laboratory.

Health Sciences Center spokesman Sam Giammo says the Albuquerque Fire Department put out the blaze within about 45 minutes.

Giammo says there are no reports of injuries.

He had no information on how the fire started.

He estimates 100 to 150 people work in the research building, but did not know how many might have been inside when the fire broke out before 8:55 a.m.

Giammo says about 400 people were evacuated from that building and three others nearby.

Health sciences officials are evaluating when to let people return to the other three buildings.
