JACKSON, Ky. - An eastern Kentucky fire department has had to rescue its own equipment to fight a blaze that damaged its fire hall.

WYMT-TV in Hazard reported the Canoe Volunteer Fire Department was able to get its trucks out of the building in Breathitt County after the fire was discovered Wednesday morning.

Investigators say it appears the fire began in a storage building attached to the fire hall and might have been electrical in nature.

One firefighter had minor injuries in battling the fire, which caused extensive damage to the building.
