NASHVILLE, Ark. - Authorities say a fire has damaged buildings in downtown Nashville, but there have been no reports of injuries.

More than 10 fire departments responded to the blaze about 4:30 p.m. Thursday. At least three businesses were damaged in the fire, which sent thick, black smoke billowing into the sky.

Mayor-elect Billy Ray Jones says the fire started in a building that was vacant and spread to an adjoining antique and second-hand shop and a beauty salon, destroying all three. Jones says the cause of the blaze wasn't immediately known.

Nashville is about 122 miles southwest of Little Rock.
