FREDERICK, Md. - Fire officials say a blaze in an elevator equipment room at Smith Hall at Hood College was minor.

The fire was reported about 6 p.m. Sunday in the first floor equipment room, and sent smoke up the elevator shaft. Official say the fire was put out in about 15 minutes.

A few students were trapped in an elevator but were not injured. Officials say they were taken to a hospital for a checkup.
